The food is available at affordable prices and seafood is recommended. In the night market, there is PX MART and Carrefour mart. Taitung Forest Park is a natural oasis that boasts an extensive network perfect for cycling. The park features gigantic beefwood trees and a man-made lake teeming with aquatic creatures and waterfowl, making it popular among swimmers and rowers alike.

Taitung Art Museum has a large area with lots of outdoor activities which make up for the not many indoor exhibition spaces. This is a place worth for visit and great for local to hangout and enjoy their free time. The museum is closed on Monday and open 9AM – 5PM from Tuesday to Sunday, but the green space outside is open for everyone all year round. Laima Picture Book Museum is located in an alley.
Dao people are known for their white loincloths, hand-carved canoes, semi-underground houses, and Flying Fish Festival (see “Taitung Events” section at the end). Called Zhaori Hot Spring (朝日溫泉), it is an exquisite hot spring experience, with a few pools right on the coast, with sea waves sometimes splashing into them. Green Island (綠島), a former prisoners’ island, now has holiday vibes. It’s got some of the best snorkeling and scuba diving in Taiwan, and one of only three salt water hot springs in the world. To experience aboriginal culture in the area, consider visiting or spending the night at Bunun Leisure Farm (布農部落休閒農場), which is run by the local Bunun tribe. Luye (鹿野) is the third and final town that I recommend stopping or spending the night in.

While there is no English menu available, the staff members are cordial and despite their limited proficiency in English, they are accommodating and willing to assist customers.

Meals are a bit pricey though (~300 for a set meal). But portions were very small and prices very high. I guess we were charged foreigner prices - this was more expensive than Morimoto New York! Amazing find, a small cafe with some great food and drinks.

The cafe provides a coffee demonstration for enthusiasts interested in trying their unique blends. Additionally, their crispy fried chicken set is highly recommended, accompanied by a flavorful Thai-inspired sweet chili sauce. This establishment boasts a spacious and well-ventilated environment with generous seating arrangements both indoors and outdoors, including a second floor. Conveniently, it also provides a parking lot on the premises.
