I’m Simone Glenn-Ward, Nominated Supervisor at Lakeside Children’s Centre with experience ranging from Early Childhood Teacher to Education Leader. In my role, I enjoy assessing our service holistically, ensuring it caters to the diverse needs of children and families in our community. I value walking alongside children as they learn about themselves, about others and about the world around them. Our  service benefits from rich cultural connections that shape meaningful interactions among families and children, making it a unique and vibrant educational setting. I strongly believe that being an early childhood educator is one of the most rewarding jobs.

Our educational approach is based on open-ended activities, encouraging children to explore and create. Goodstart’s kindergarten programs is designed to prepare your child for future success in schooling and life. Created in accordance with the government-approved Early Years Learning Framework, our curriculum teaches vital skills. With programs that fit within long daycare hours, your child receives the benefits of structured activities during hours that suit your needs.
Our experienced and attentive educators encourage children to set their imagination free and uncover their own path to learning. It is our aim to provide an environment in which the children are able to safely and freely experience the world around them through exploration, inquiry and discovery within a Christ-centred framework. The Early Years Learning Framework describes childhood as a time of belonging, being and becoming.
We tailor our program to meet the individual needs of every child, working closely with families, educators, and support professionals. Through ongoing communication, feedback forms, and regular meetings, we ensure each child’s strengths and challenges are understood and supported. Music education has been shown to enhance brain development, especially in language and math skills. At ELJ, our music program helps children develop rhythm, coordination, and self-expression through interactive musical activities. I’m passionate about giving kids the best start in life, and I find it incredibly rewarding to watch them grow and learn during such vital years. Building trust with families and creating a safe, nurturing environment is at the heart of everything I do.
